Shoe Tribute

So with all my talk about “warm” weather and sandals and playing in the sun and blah blah….it’s time to give a little love to winter. I was getting ready this morning and got a little sentimental over my shoes. I know, seriously, who does that? Have you ever found that one article of clothing, pair of shoes, or pair of earrings that you just really love whether it’s for comfort, style, or both? I found that…and I found it in my black Dansko clogs. I truly love my clogs and I’m actually gonna be a little sad when it comes time to retire them for the summer. Well I’ll never fully retire them for the summer, but I won’t be wearing them nearly as much as I do now. Awww…see? I got a little sad just saying that. So here it is..my tribute to my Danskos. Seriously one of the greatest shoes ever made! Gosh...I talk about shoes a lot.....

Sweeney Todd!!

Sweeney Todd comes out on DVD on Tuesday, April 1st!!! No this isn't an April Fool's joke! I'm really being serious. I CAN'T WAIT!! One of my favorite songs is "Pirelli's Miracle Elixir". Oh and I really love "Epiphany" Here's one of my favorite parts of that song....ohh who am I kidding? I love the whole song and I love all the songs. It's soo good!!!

Alright! You sir, you sir, how about a shave?

Come and visit your good friend Sweeney.

You sir, too sir? Welcome to the grave.

Tyler Withdrawals....

So last week was Spring Break and for some people that means time off and vacations and blah blah, but for me it means, life as normal. Work all day. I did catch a little bit of fun. It turned out that Tyler's daycare wouldn't be open. Ryan and Vicki asked Kim to babysit Tyler during the day and guess who hurried home at lunch time and at 5pm to see that cute little boy hanging out at her house? Yep..thats me! So I got this HUGE dose of Tyler last week and now...I'm in withdrawals. Ohh :( I'm really missing that kid.... Luckily it's the weekend and that means I get to see him!! Yay!

Need or Want?

So...do I need these shoes? Or is it just that I really want them? No I need them! How can a girl wear cute capris and not wear some cute mary janes? Let alone some comfy mary janes? I'm walking around the office all day up and down the hall and I need comfy shoes. Crocs are really comfy and these Alice Crocs are comfy and cute. They don't scream "Croc", do they? I'm so excited. Now the choice is.....black? It's practical..I can wear them with so many shirts, but man..I do love a cute pair of RED mary jane shoes! WOW! Plus...look an adorable peacock color..and a grape!! Ack! I'm in mary jane heaven!

Getting sucked in….

It happens…and it happens to the best of us. We all get sucked in….to something! Admit it! Okay, so I ride my stationary bike every night. It’s a habit that I picked up back in the early fall last year. I can’t go a week night without riding..it just doesn’t feel right. Anyway, while I ride my bike, I love to watch something....anything. I discovered the joy of tv shows on DVD as it’s the perfect allotted amount of time. Most shows typically run 25-40 minutes…obviously depending on the show you chose, but I tend to pick the dramas and they are usually 40 minutes. I know, how can you go wrong? I was thinking the exact same thing! Well, I watched “Lost”, I watched “Friday Night Lights”, and I watched “Heroes”. I was at a point where I needed a new show. I made my weekly trip to Wal-Mart on Saturday to pick up my weeks worth of “lean cuisines” and such. Well I just happened to see the 1st season of the “O.C.” on DVD for 19.95. Anyone that knows me, knows that I’m a sucker for good deals. THAT was a good deal. I ate it right up! Wait wait…it doesn’t end there. I got home from William’s house on Saturday night and decided to pop the first disc in while I folded some laundry. Yep..you guessed it…SUCKED in! I watched 3 episodes and I wanted to watch more, but by this time it was 2:30 in the morning. Anyway, it’s a good show. If you are willing…give it a shot. Oh and if you have a recommendation, I’m all ears! Pass it on!

What was I thinking?

Yes, I went against my better judgment, all that I stand for, all that I've ever been taught, and all I live for and picked BYU to win their first round game of the NCAA tournament. LOSERS!!!!! What was I thinking? UGH! I can't believe I was so foolish! From this day on, I will never go against my core beliefs and cheer for BYU in any way, shape, or form! And by the way, when speaking of Duke....can you say overrated??

Just thinking.....

I've been thinking and thinking today and I just can't think of much to say. So today is a day of "just thinking" I guess I've just been too wrapped up in all the March Madness and bracketology. Tomorrow the games start!! Woohoo!!

Eye on the Prize, Kristi!

Just imagine "Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor playing in the background, and Kristi strength ....er mind training for what she hopes to be her big evening in what will surely go down in history as "Kristi's long awaited and most triumphant win in Pinochle" Yes, I'm headed to Texas in June. If you know Steve and Sharon or any of the Bangerters...you know Pinochle isn't just a game...it's a way of life. hehe :) So, I gotta start preparing now. I'm not sure how I'm going to train, but I'm going to make a showing that nobody and I mean nobody will forget. Or at least I hope!

Love it! *Click click* goes the remote and I'm on ESPN.......waiting....waiting......waiting. FINALLY in the very last region, the bottom section no less, Wyoming Cowgirls v. Pittsburgh Panthers. Woohoo!! The girls deserve it and I'm hoping for the best. Let's Dance!!!!!!

Horsing...err Four wheeling around

Tyler and I took Grandpa to Frontier Cycles to order a tail light for his Kawasaki Mule. Upon entering the showroom, I could see the excitement literally flood Tyler. He quickly found all the four wheelers and "dirt bikes" his size. Being the good natured boy he is, he wouldn't climb up on them until I told him he could. See at a place like that...they like you to climb on them and get a feel for them..so you take one home. Tyler found a little white "dirt bike" and a white four wheeler and a red Polaris Sportsman. Of course like every little boy, the revving of the engine sounds accompanied his "test" drives. After checking out each one 3 or 4 times, he simply asked me "Kristi, will this fit in your car?" I knew what he was implying, but I responded "yes, why?" The smile of all smiles came over his face, "Can I get it?" I had to explain to him that they were thousands of dollars and I just couldn't afford it today. Can you imagine if I just bought a "dirt bike" or four wheeler as casually as buying a gallon of milk?

Boys and their "all knowing" Sports knowledge.

Why do some boys have such issues with a girl knowing just as much if not more than them about sports? Wouldn’t it make things more fun? I certainly wouldn’t date anyone that knew squat about sports! I like the Georgetown Hoyas! I think they could be a surprise team and make it further than projected this year, but don’t go telling me I’m “not smart” for choosing them.
To each his own! Sheesh!

Lash like a pro?

I was reading Women's Health last night, very informative magazine by the way, I found a tiny little blurb titled "Lash like a pro". Of course anything about mascara/eyelashes, this girl will most definitely read! Basically they say to bend your mascara wand at a 45 degree angle, which provides for more coverage and lengthening. I'm always up to trying new things, I gave it a whirl this morning. TA-DA!!

I spent much less time brushing and brushing my lashes! Woohoo! One of the best parts, the newly curved wand surprisingly still smoothly slid easily back in the tube. I LOVE IT!!!

Well said!!

I truly truly bleed brown and gold....always have..and always will. With that deep rooted love comes a strong dislike for both BYU and Utah.

In my reading of the news and such today, I came across this "public forum" in the Salt Lake Tribune. One particular comment stuck out to me. It relates to Utah Coach Jim Boylen getting reprimaded for his comment to Wyoming Head Coach Heath Schroyer. It comes from.....ironically enough...Provo! Way to go Dan Carlile from Provo! Well said!!!

Here it is...enjoy!

Utah Utes coach Jim Boylen's shenanigans over Wyoming's last-second alley-oop dunk in an eight-point-loss game is full of hypocrisy. Boylen claims that Wyoming displayed "a lack of respect for your opponent" when the Cowboys threw down the unnecessary dunk in the game's waning moments.
Sports fans argue whether or not the late dunk was appropriate - I don't think it was a big deal - but I just wonder where Boylen gets off saying that Wyoming showed a "lack of respect" when he was the one who greeted the Wyoming coach at the end of the game with the kind phrase, "F--- you!"

Those Little Rascals!

Woohoo!! Look what I have in my possession! If you couldn’t tell from that awesome picture I took, it’s tickets to the one and only Rascal Flatts at Frontier Days this summer in Cheyenne! I’m beyond excited….as you can tell. If you aren’t a fan of Rascal Flatts…just stop reading and erase my phone number or any contact information you have for me…NOW! Ok, really don’t! I love Rascal Flatts, I love Frontier Days, and I love you reading my blog!
Anyway, the point I’m making: I, Kristi, will allow you to be jealous of me!

Fantasy Football, anyone?

Maybe it wasn't technically "fantasy football", but it was football and it was fun. Tyler and I played ourselves a game or two, him being "the broncos" and me being "the Wyoming". He's got quite the arm and he is such a mimick of any football player of any position. He runs and does the dodgy avoiding tackler moves. Oh and he loves his Broncos jersey. Yes, his favorite Aunt Kristi got that for him. What a cutie!

Double your fun

Tyler and I spent the better part of our Sunday afternoon laughing ourselves to tears with the effects of "mirror" on my webcam. Tyler loved watching his head "squish" into something of a deformed nature. Cyclops, headless, or as he called it "we have the same neck". Mostly...we had "double" the fun!

The recommended...or not so recommended

I recommend a lot of things! BUT I'll only touch base on a few today.
Recommendation # 1 Buy a delightful book! I purchased my very own Jane Austen collection. Definitely a good buy! I'm a slightly obsessed with Jane Austen stories at the moment!

Recommendation #2 for today. Go for a walk. It doesn't matter if it's raining, sunny, or snowing...ok snowing might be a little over the top, but get out and enjoy the fresh air and the exercise of a daily walk. You never know what treasures await you! I braced the 35 degree weather and slightly chilly wind today with Janine. The goal = find something funny as a momento for braving the cold. I found Janine a lovely rusty wrench and she spotted a glowingly dirty "titleist" golf ball for me. Oh what treasures! :)

Recommendation # 3 or the not so recommended. Enjoy a tall glass of water, but at any point in the day, don't use scissors to snip your own flesh! OUCH!! Yes yes, I snipped my finger with regular kitchen scissors. It wasn't such a good time and yes, I can honestly say I've never done this before. Ohh the excitement of doing something new. HAHA..no!

Decisions...Decisions....

Senator Barack Obama will be in Laramie tonight. He’s speaking at 7:15 at the Arena Auditorium. Ok, do I go? Hmm… or do I skip it? Hmmm…… Historically, it could be a once in a lifetime opportunity, but I am not too thrilled that I’d have to stand around and sit around for like 3 or 4 hours just to get in! I'd still have to get seated, and then sit through him speaking. No offense Barack, but that's a long evening! PLUS, I’m not sure if I’ve ever mentioned this before, but I’m not fond of HUGE crowds. I will deal if it’s something I really want to attend, BUT ugh..why am I faced with such dilemmas? Why can’t it be like “hey Kristi…Ted Bundy is gonna be at the Arena, unguarded…..wanna go?” “Uhhh…NO!” Ok, the decision factor may have gotten a tiny bit easier. Bill Clinton was in town yesterday and people that stood in line for hours were turned away. Hmm….is it worth my time to stand in line and not even make it in the door? I’ll keep you posted.

Sometimes

So...sometimes it's windy in Laramie. :) Sometimes I'm also talented at taking my own picture while fighting the wind.

Obsession

I bought a new laptop about 2 weeks ago and with it came my love for King.com. I don’t know how I came across this website, but the fun never ends! I love playing “Kingpin Bowling”. It’s just bowling, I know, but it’s really addictive and fun. I’m beginning to find a love for “Luxor”….OH MY GOSH that game is frustrating. I guess my point is…if you are bored or need a little fun entertainment, seriously check it out!

Warm Weather Fever!

I've got spring/summer/warm weather fever! BAD! It was beautiful on Saturday! In fact, it was so nice that I hit the streets of downtown in my capris and sandals. I got an itch for some new sandals and woila! I splurged! Warm weather get here....I really want to wear my cute new chacos!
