Silly? How silly!

The other day, I was thinking of my nephew Tyler and all the cute and funny things he will say or do. Instantly my mind said “What a silly kid!”
SOO I looked up the definition of silly.

Silly – weak-minded or lacking good sense; stupid or foolish.

How absurd! I like my definition of Silly.

Silly – an act or person that is so cute, it causes another to giggle.

My nephew Tyler is silly!

Radio DJ? or Pilot?

Every year, Janine and I handle the sound booth during Ghost Tours of Laramie City. The sound booth definitely keeps us on our toes, but I wouldn't be acting like myself if I didn't find time to take at least one picture commemorating the moment. :) I don't really think I look like a sound booth operator though, more like a radio dj or an pilot of some sort? haha!

Outfit for 5 minutes?

So...you'll probably think I'm crazy or maybe just a little dorky, but a couple weeks ago I ventured down to Maurices to find a new shirt. I was itching for something fun and trendy and cute. What else would I be looking for, right? So I pick out a couple things and take them into one of the dressing rooms. I'm posing and checking myself out and realized "hey...why don't I take a snapshot of myself...and then I could really see what I look like with this shirt on?" So I dig out my camera, which I keep in my purse for this exact type of occasion, and I begin snapping different poses. Yes, I tried on more than one shirt and took pictures of the other shirts as well. SO, here I am, standing before the world and sharing my moment in the dressing room, my outfit for 5 minutes.

Halloween Night

It's tradition to carve not just one pumpkin, but SEVERAL! The more the merrier, right? With Tyler's creative mind, he and I carved the "sword" through the pumpkin together. My creative juices got flowing on my second pumpkin with a "Jack Skellington" theme. The winner of the real arts this year, was Janine with her "Donald Duck" pumpkin! Wow! Of course Halloween 2007 was just as fun and goofy as every other year. I really love this time of year!

Halloween 2007

Wow! It's been forever since I actually gave this here blog some attention. I believe it's way over due. Here we are and what better way to get back into the swing of things...share Halloween photos! Janine and I planned to go to the big Halloween Dance and to a couple Halloween parties this year and being the silly youthful girls that we are, we decided we definitely needed to dress up. What though? After plenty of pondering, we decided to grace the Halloween Dance as 20's gangsters! What fun! Don't we look so tough?

And he grew up to be a dad.....

The boy who pestered me as a child, chased me around the house, used me as his punching bag, and teased me beyond belief….grew up to be a dad. AND what a dad he became! I absolutely love watching my brother Ryan with Tyler. He’s soft and tender and playfully loving, yet stern, honest, and trusting. The bond between a father and son is one that I will obviously never know, but it’s also one that will amaze me forever. Keep up the good work, Ryan!

WHY? Wyoming?

Why would anyone ever complain about Wyoming? Sure, it’s got wide open spaces, but is that really that bad? Just take a look at the beauty that makes up those “wide open spaces” Wyoming is immeasurable. The mountains, the bright blue clear skies, the fresh air, the trees, and the pure beauty will take anyone’s breath away. I love Wyoming because it takes me 10 -15 minutes to drive to the most beautiful placesEVER and it’s free. I don’t have to purchase an annual pass, I don’t have to pay to any toll fee to drive through, not a penny. I absolutely love Wyoming. I love being outside and Wyoming has the greatest “outsides” you could ever imagine. This past weekend, I ventured out AGAIN to the outdoors. I wouldn’t trade it for anything!

Cowboy in us all

I don't know why I act the way I do, like I ain't got a single thing to lose. Sometimes I'm my own worst enemy, I guess that's just the cowboy in me. The urge to run, the restlessness, the heart of stone I sometimes get. The things I've done for foolish pride. The me that's never satisfied. The face that's in the mirror when I don't like what I see, I guess that's just the cowboy in me.

No matter who you are, big or tall, old or young. No matter where you call home, we all have a little cowboy in us all.

Stand Still, Look Pretty

I want to paint my face, and pretend that I am someone else. Sometimes I get so fed up, I don't even want to look at myself, but people have problems that are worse than mine. I don't want you to think I'm complaining all the time. You might think it's easy being me. You just stand still, look pretty.

Glitter Baton

It's funny how we find that one childhood toy that will forever be the greatest invention ever! For me, it's the infamous "glitter baton" . It's been so fun rekindling or long lost friendship. Welcome home glitter baton!!!!

my friend Ben

My friend Ben.....

He's quirky, he's funny, he's quiet at times, he's super nice, and he's Ben. I truly believe that people are placed in your lives for a reason. I'm comfortable with Ben, I trust Ben, and he's a flat out good time. Like many people that have touched my life, I doubt I will ever pin point exactly why our paths crossed. Maybe it’s to be there for each other, to help each other, or maybe to put it plain and simple...to build a lasting friendship. Like many other people that have come into my life...I'm grateful for the rides!!!!

Looking up to the "big boys"

Wednesday night, we played Bocce Ball at Washington Park with some friends. Such a good game if you haven't looked into it! Tyler tagged along, mostly running around and being silly. Janine captured this picturesque moment - Tyler looking up to the "big boys" He is so shy, but you can see that he really does look up to the people around him and plays off their examples. It really made me realize how important it is to be a good example to him and to everyone around me. I'm going to make sure I'm always putting my best foot forward.

BFF?

We, me and my girls, (Valarie and Janine) stopped off at Angel's Nails for a little pampering on our feet. I was a pedicure virgin. Eeek...the streak has been broken and I'm an official addict. I honestly loved it! My toenails are so cute and my feet feel amazing. I didn't know I had such rough heels. Ta-da! Beautifully soft feet! Halfway through the gal working on Janine's feet asked us if we all were BFF. So funny because first of all, I haven't used that phrase in about 8 ages, but seriously...those two girls...they ARE my BFF!! I don't know what I would do without their examples and their friendships and most of all ...the GOOD TIMES!!!! I love my BFF girls!

Weekend Road Trip

It's that season...for the short yet the best time of my life "weekend road trips"!!! I'm taking my inagural trip this weekend to the great state of Utah. I'm going to be the first to admit it, I'm in a phase right now where I really miss Utah. Yeah, yeah..who says that? Anyway, I didn't think I EVER would, but here I am...missing it. So, I'm off to give myself a little dose!

Seriously!!

Who has to travel clear across the country to ride in a stretch hummer limo? Ok..I guess that would be me! Seriously!! It was one of the coolest things I've ever seen or done! Ok, well that and watching Janine fall down two times the other night. Oh and get this, she fell down got up...walked seriously 20 feet and fell down again! Holy cow! I've never laughed so hard! Our friend Will was doubled over and through fits of laughter he said "If anyone was watching from a window...they would think you were sloshed!" We laughed even harder...I could barely breathe! Oh the fun! Life really is better with all the little laughs and those unique perks. Those once in a lifetime things. SERIOUSLY!!!

Tyler Aaron Nelson

There are no words that can fully explain why nephews are so great, they just are!

Cowboys!!!

Cowboy take me away

Fly this girl as high as you can

Into the wild blue

Set me free oh I pray

Closer to heaven above and

Closer to you closer to you

Oh how we love the cowboys in our lives! Such good hearted, home grown, nice guys!

Play Dress Up

Girls will be girls! From the days of running around the neighborhood in a ballerina tutu, plastic high heels, and carrying my glitter baton to the present, I will never outgrow dressing up. I will definitely never outgrow the feather boa! Woohoo! I think every girl is born with the right of passage to “play dress up” forever! Of course, I wish I could “play dress up” and attend the Oscars, but for now I’ll settle for dressing up for special occasions, work, church, dates, and anytime that a girl gets the notion. So to every girl out there, dress up, have fun, and be young!

Strike a pose...

A once in a lifetime photo shoot!!! Some fancy photographer by the name of Tyler Aaron Nelson snapped the greatest shots ever! I should probably send them in to numerous modeling angencies. As you can clearly see, the top half of my head is cut off. Woohoo!! He was quite tickled each time the camera clicked. His little laugh is so infectious and super cute. I can say without a doubt, spending time with him truly makes my heart smile.
