Warm Fuzzy

What is a warm fuzzy?

warm fuzzies -the warm, pleasant sensations one feels in the stomach and heart area when emotionally moved by an act of goodwill or love.

warm fuzzies - warming messages of friendliness or love to someone expressing a kind message to show gratitude toward one person or a whole group of people.

The opposite of warm fuzzy is a cold prickly.

Last night we had our first dress rehearsal for Ghost Tours, it’s definitely coming along!! Yay!! My dear sweet mother requested a cd with “ghostly voices” and being the great daughter that I am, I quickly logged onto the computer to see what I could find. Before my fingers could even make a move, my heart danced!!! My sweet Tyler left a couple of “warm fuzzies” on the computer desk. He drew a picture of the two of us playing football and another picture of what I’m guessing could be me, but I never knew I had such short hair. :) At the top of each picture were the words – “I love Kristi” awwww……*eyes watering* It’s so amazing to see little kids minds at work and to see what they take from life - the moments they remember and treasure. I know that the times I spend with him are very impressionable and I know I love every memory that I make with him. I’m sooo touched that he feels the same way. OH, and if you don’t know by now, I’m a softy……total softy! I still cry every time I watch Hope Floats. I know, don’t make fun! So yes, that cute little “warm fuzzy” caused my eyes to well up. I love that little guy…and I love that he loves me!!!

What a sweet reminder -- share those warm fuzzies!!!!

Let the scares begin!

It's that time of year, When the world falls in love, Ev'ry song you hear seems to say "Merry Christm……." Ohhhh...wrong holiday!! (although ---I LOVE LOVE LOVE Christmas and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Carpenters Christmas album)

Ok focus... last night we had Ghost Tours 2009 Orientation......and it was CRAZY!!!! I can't believe how many volunteers showed up. (95% of the volunteers come from Wyo Tech) Seriously, when I arrived at the Territorial Prison, I pulled in the parking lot and it was FULL! FULL!! My mouth literally dropped open in awe. AND when I walked into the horsebarn, it was so packed, it was standing room only, Janine and I ended up hanging out the door trying to listen to my mom give her "Welcome" speech. *side note* It was FREEZING cold last night!

BUT never you fear, eventually the crowd shifted and we were able to make it in the warmth of the building...ahhhh... :)

After we broke into the 3 groups - Horsebarn crew, Downtown crew, and Prison crew - I explained the Horsebarn portion and the parts we needed and Janine took down names. Still crazy- we had soo many volunteers that we started running out of positions! OH and I have to add - this group last night was so awesome!! They all were so eager and excited and just a good bunch of guys! (Rumor has it, they counted 151 volunteers!! WOW!!!)

Once again, Ghost Tours of Laramie City, will be a huge hit!
The tour starts at the Horsebarn and moves down to a Hayride through Frontier town and the streets of Downtown Laramie, and back to the Park for a candle light tour of the Prison. It's a fun and frightful time, with factual ghost stories and re-enactments. Warning: Haunts and scares lurk behind every corner!!

AS always - Reservations are always encouraged and HIGHLY recommended, as it SELLS out EVERY year. We end up turning away so many people...CALL early if you want to come!

Opening night is October 16! (The 17th is blacked out ......for my birthday, but don't tell anyone..shhhhhh!!!!) October 22, 23, 24, 29, 30, and of course the 31st! The first tour is at 7:00 p.m. and the last one is at 9:30 pm. Tours leave the park every half hour.
Let the SCARES begin............ (if you are brave enough)

It's Fall, I'm in love!

Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns. ~George Eliot

I truly truly love Summer and nothing beats the beautiful Summers we have here in Wyoming, but give me a Fall day filled with football and some pumpkin bread and I’m smitten!!!

So with the Fall season surrounding me, here are the top 10 reasons...... I’m smitten.

1) Pumpkin infused everything and anything!

2) Orange leaves, yellow leaves, bright red leaves - Oh the colors of Fall!

3) Football games & tailgating

4) Halloween – the spooky and the cutesy!!

5) Carving pumpkins

6) Squash of any type – I love spaghetti squash!

7) Wearing sweatshirts, sweaters, cute boots, scarves, etc.

8) Curling up by the fireplace…mmm nothing beats it!

9) perfect mix of sun and clouds

10) my birthday - *hint hint*

It's Electric!!!!!!!

~Feel the power, you see the energy....Comin up.....Coming on strong~

Remember that song? I sure do......brings back fond memories of throwing in my Debbie Gibson cassette tape, slapping on my coolest jean jacket, and dancing around the living room.....all while pretending I was a famous pop star...performing on recess for my peers.....and YES...recess at Slade Elementary!!!

Enough of my awesome and creative imagination -

Electric Fires - electric feeds (electrical appliances) are used more and more in our daily lives. Like other fires, the root cause of an electric fire is the introduction of heat, oxygen, and fuel. In electrical fires, the heat is released as electricity is dissipated through a resistive element, while the fuel may come from the surroundings or from the material that makes up the appliance.

And you thought I wasn't smart.............shame on you!

This morning as I'm drying my hair with my trusty conair hair dryer... *POP* *KABANG* *SNAP*, a huge flame (honestly the size of a football) flashes in front of me..well....right in front of my bare legs and bare feet...YEEE-OUCH! I screamed and jumped back, fearing my life was over and the house was gonna blow. haha. That quick my near death experience was over as I realize my hair dryer is off...I look down to see the cord is innocently dangling, no longer plugged in...well plugged into the wall! EXPLANATION: my hair dryer was plugged into an extension cord and the extension cord was plugged into the outlet. Apparently the extension cord was purchased when the house was built ...in the 70's because that dear brown cord that saw me through many many hair days - both bad and good....committed suicide this morning. By "committed suicide", I mean it literally fried to death...and then ...quickly decapitated itself before my very eyes.

So, I lived and my trust hair dryer lived. I simply removed the middle man (the extension cord) and went back to drying my hair. I even made it to work on time.

My advice: If you ever feel like your extension cord is "wow fairly hot" somedays.....don't just ignore it.....REPLACE IT!!!! It's trying to tell you, "I want to go to extension cord heaven and if I don't get to go soon, I'm gonna blow your house up....or scare you to death."

99 red balloons...or maybe 1...and maybe a blue too

This past weekend was just like any other -way too short, but LOTS of fun!

Tyler came over (surprise huh?) We played air guitar while rocking to Journey, we played GI Joe, blew up balloons (which we used as weapons as well), used the air mattress as a slide, went to the playground, and got caught in a huge hail and rain storm.

Usually Tyler is the one that cracks me up with his witty 6 year old mind....but this weekend...everytime I looked at that guy...he was holding his stomach while belting out his infectiously cute laugh.

So my conclusion....either...
a) I'm getting funnier (woohoo!)
b) he's getting so big, he's understanding my sarcastic cracks. (yay!)
c) someone is coaching him on the courtesy laugh so as not to hurt my feelings. (hahaha yeah right!)

No, we aren't doing aerobics, this is some of our "GI Joe moves" (Snake Eyes specifically)
