Clicking/Ticking Noise

Why? Why do some people feel the need to make that annoying clicking/ticking whatever noise as they search for something or look up something with you on the other end of the phone? I can't stand it! It's not funny...it's not cool! I guarantee it doesn't make me think "ohhh whew..I'm so glad they made that clicking/ticking noise or I would assume that they fell off their chair and died!" Just stop....I can handle the silence as you search your computer or you debate what number you want to give me for the message I'm passing on, but For The LOVE of PETE!!!! Stop the clicking/ticking noise!

Oh....little side note....I love Lily Tomlin!!!
