You Shook Me All Night Long. (Texas, part 1)

I’m sure you all are dying to hear about my Texas trip. We had a great time. It was hotter than …well you know what… down there, but I survived. Janine and I leisurely drove to Denver on Wednesday the 11th and met Val at the airport when she arrived from Salt Lake. We all hopped on the next flight to Houston! Yay!! We arrived a little before midnight in our cool and air conditioned airplane. As soon as we stepped off the plane in that little connector walk way thing……wow…I wanted to die! If I’m remembering right, Janine and Val had to pull me screaming and kicking away from the plane. Was it the flight attendant that gave me the final shove out the door? Hmm…I can’t remember, that part is kinda fuzzy. Can you blame me…I was drunk on humidity. For the next 4 days, I was ….well to put it simply….sweating my face off!! We went to the beach in Galveston on Thursday, played and played in the waves. What great fun! I loved it! After drying off and changing out of our “swim” gear, we headed to Kemah Boardwalk for more fun….and more wet. ACDC’s “You Shook Me All Night Long” will forever remind me of the “Boardwalk Beast”, a fast speed boat ride through Galveston Bay that WILL get you…soaked..or as I like to call it..the “12 dollar shower with your clothes on”. Actually despite my grumblings, it was fun! Ohhhh the memories I will forever have of seeing the 15 foot wall of water on each side of the boat and knowing it only has one place to go……..down…on me! We laughed and laughed and then pretty much spent the rest of the evening ringing out our clothes. Of course nothing helped and about 30 minutes later…it rained! I believe that was the one time in my life that I walked calmly and happily through a rainstorm. We stopped, still soaking wet, at Whattaburger on the way home to grab a bite to eat. All I can say is...I’ve never eaten a more delicious hamburger wearing soaking wet jean capris in a very air conditioned room. It was cold! Stay tuned for Part 2!

Little Miss Forgetful

For the most part, I pride myself in being very good at remembering, but sometimes...if I don't literally tie a string around my finger.....I forget! The other night was supposed to be a night when the moon would full and look ...well pretty much huge! I was quite excited. I love clear evenings with lots of stars and a full bright moon. I was primed and ready to catch this great view........it didn't happen! Dang! Once again....maybe next time.

Oh happy days!

My happy days have returned and by that I mean...my little Tyler returned from vacation! Yay!!! They landed in Denver Saturday evening and waiting for them to make the drive back to Laramie seemed forever! Of course, getting phone calls from my favorite little guy definitely made it easier! I got a big "King Kong" hug and he told me "I love you the mostest" Awwwww... makes my heart so happy! We played "sea monsters" in the pool also known as our bed for the evening, we wrestled, we played a board game, we jumped on the trampoline, he helped me water my garden, we played at the park, and I got lots more hugs and kisses. Ohhhh...my heart!! What a great weekend!

Addicted...

I’m 100% addicted to my cute little nephew, Tyler!!! I knew I loved him more than anything in the world, but this weekend really made me realize how much I truly love spending time with him. I’m leaving for Texas on Wednesday and coming back Sunday. Now normally this would be fine, I could just see him when I got back to town. Not this time…….. he will be leaving to Oregon with his mom and dad on his very first plane trip on Saturday. They will be gone till the following Saturday. UGH!!! It may sound pathetic, but I don’t know if I can handle not seeing him for a week and a half!!! SO, I tried to make the most of my time with him this past weekend. We played outside, we put a puzzle together, we played with his light sabers, we played on the mattress, we watched "Indy Jones", we went to "BK" (he says you have to call it BK, it must be cooler), we wrestled, we played football, we laughed, and I even got some hugs and kisses. Oh and in case you didn’t know…I’m a softie, an emotional softie! I cry easily, ok? As he was leaving my house to go home, I felt a tiny sting in my heart and my eyes watered a little. I’m gonna miss him!!!!!

Procrastination's a @#$%@

The weekend is finally upon me and I don’t have really big plans. Especially after partying with Nicole Richie all week…I gotta take some time to just relax. I do need to get myself in for a haircut somewhere. I’m sure you can see those long blond locks are just not quite cutting it. Hehe. Seriously though, my girl that usually does my hair isn’t working tomorrow…Agh! What do I do now? It’s that procrastinating side of me that put me in this predicament in the first place. Hopefully next time I blog…my hair will be all trimmed and pretty. Or maybe I'll be stuck with my "very desperately needing a trim" hair through my trip to Texas. Stay tuned!

Is it really Friday? FINALLY!?!?!

I almost can't believe my eyes....is it really true? This week has been so crazy and long and exhausting! I'm soo glad it's FINALLY Friday! I should celebrate!
